Since early 2025, the Cendana Group has been actively cultivating oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) and currently has over 1,000 mushroom bags, which are used for group consumption and sold to local residents. In addition to providing a healthy food source for the group and surrounding residents, this activity also adds economic value to the group’s independence.
The Cendana Group welcomed the visit and eagerly shared their knowledge of mushroom cultivation with the wider community. The event served as an educational platform for oyster mushroom cultivation techniques, from introducing growing media to maintenance. This learning not only supported the Craft and Entrepreneurship curriculum by providing practical experience but also fostered students’ interest in developing business opportunities based on local potential in Sumber Makmur village, Aceh Tamiang.
