Illustrated Comic Book: Four Animal Legends

A *Teungku Inong* is a female religious scholar in Aceh. Typically, a *Teungku Inong* fulfills multiple roles: teaching Islamic studies at *dayahs* (traditional Islamic boarding schools), regular schools, or universities; delivering lectures at community religious gatherings; and participating actively in village-level or higher-level institutions, among other activities.

In October 2023, the module was refined during a module review FGD. It was launched in November at a workshop held jointly with the MPU and the Aceh Customary Council. A long journey began.

This comic is derived from the Wildlife Module and aims to educate children about wildlife, while also introducing Acehnese legends and local wisdom regarding the harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and animals.

Through comics, the younger generation comes to understand that environmental protection is not merely a religious mandate, but an ancestral legacy that remains alive in their stories. This comic is the result of an extensive collaborative effort—spanning everything from field interviews to the creation of meaningful hand-printed illustrations.
