The Singkil Swamp Rescue Coalition Team (TKPRS) held an audience with the Aceh Regional Secretary regarding the permit review in South Aceh.

The Aceh Government, represented by the Aceh Regional Secretary (Sekda), received a request for an audience with the Singkil Swamp Rescue Coalition Team (TKPRS) on July 14, 2026. The event was attended by the Aceh Regional Secretary, Assistant II, Head of Bureau, Head of Related Services (DPMPTSP, DLHK, Transmigration Service, Distanbun, BKSDA), Aceh Governor’s Special Team, Head of Finance, HAkA, MaTA, WALHI, P2LH, LBH Banda Aceh.

The Aceh Regional Secretary affirmed his commitment to continuing the implementation of the Governor’s Instruction regarding Licensing Arrangement, particularly the arrangement and evaluation of oil palm plantation permits, which have not been running optimally. WALHI Aceh presented the results of the review and the continuously increasing deforestation conditions as an important basis for the arrangement. The Aceh Regional Secretary invited all parties to the meeting on June 16, 2026, for the Development and Supervision of Large Plantation Businesses, and on July 22, 2026, to discuss progress following today’s hearing. The Aceh Government is committed to organizing companies with problematic permits and enforcing the law against companies operating without permits.
