Aceh Prepares Biodiversity Master Plan 2026–2030

Banda Aceh — The Aceh Government began testing the draft Biodiversity Profile and Biodiversity Management Master Plan (RIP Kehati) 2026–2030 through a cross-stakeholder discussion forum in Banda Aceh, Wednesday (16/4/2026).

This step is the initial step in the process of developing a strategic document that will serve as a reference for biodiversity management policies at the provincial level. The first round of discussions took place at the Rasamala Hotel and will continue in four sessions to ensure comprehensive input.

The Aceh government, through the Environment and Forestry Agency (DLHK), is promoting the development of this document in response to increasing pressures on biodiversity. Aceh itself is known for its comprehensive ecosystems, from tropical rainforests and rivers to coastal and marine areas that provide habitat for various key species.
