HAkA Goes to School: Encouraging Young People to Care About the Environment and Forest Conservation

BANDA ACEH, KOMPAS — Conservation education based on religious values and local wisdom is considered a crucial strategy for fostering environmental awareness among the younger generation. This initiative was implemented by the Aceh Forest, Nature, and Environment Foundation (HAkA) through the HAkA Goes To School (HaChool) program at the MAN 1 Banda Aceh hall on Thursday (May 21, 2026).

This activity, initiated by HAkA Environmental Cadres Batch 3, involved dozens of students, school administrators, and environmental communities. They were invited to explore the importance of the Leuser Ecosystem (KEL) as a National Strategic Area that protects global biodiversity, while also understanding the moral responsibility of preserving nature from an Islamic perspective.
