World Biodiversity Day at the Cinta Baca Foundation (YCB) Aceh Reading Post

To commemorate World Biodiversity Day, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025—in collaboration with Kami Sahabat Leuser (KSL), KOFAKAHA USK, and Yayasan Cinta Baca Aceh—organized an environmental education event on May 23, 2025, at the YCB Aceh Reading Post. Featuring Sonya Yolanda H.T. as the speaker, the event was designed to introduce children to environmental conservation values ​​through interactive and enjoyable learning methods.

This activity featured child-friendly learning methods, such as storytelling and environmentally-themed coloring activities. Through this approach, participants were introduced to local flora and fauna and the importance of preserving nature in a simple and enjoyable way. Participants’ enthusiasm was high throughout the activity, demonstrated by the children’s active involvement in discussions, identifying animals, and expressing their understanding through colors and stories. This activity was also supported by the HAkA Foundation and the Leuser Conservation Forum (FKL).

A total of 53 children (19 boys and 34 girls) participated in this event, making it a significant educational platform for fostering ecological awareness from an early age. Through this initiative, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025 emphasizes that environmental education should begin with children, employing an approach that is simple, enjoyable, and impactful, so that a sense of care for nature becomes an ingrained habit from childhood.
