Tree-Planting Event Commemorating International Day for Biological Diversity (May 24, 2025)

To commemorate the International Day for Biological Diversity, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025 organized a tree-planting event on May 24, 2025, as a campaign highlighting the importance of concrete action in environmental conservation. The event took place at the STIK Pante Kulu Educational Forest in Gampong Bueng, Kota Jantho District, Aceh Besar Regency, in collaboration with the STIK Pante Kulu Student Executive Board (BEM). This tree-planting initiative aimed to raise ecological awareness while strengthening collective responsibility for preserving biodiversity, restoring vegetation cover, and supporting future ecosystem sustainability.

This activity involved 53 participants—29 men and 24 women—comprising organizing committee members, university students, and community representatives, with support from various agencies and environmental organizations such as BKSDA Aceh, DLHK Aceh, KPH Region I, and the Kami Sahabat Leuser (KSL) community. Through tree planting, participants were encouraged to engage directly in environmental restoration efforts while gaining an understanding of the importance of cross-sector collaboration in maintaining ecosystem quality. The event served not only as a symbolic observance of the International Day for Biological Diversity but also as a tangible contribution to environmental protection in Aceh.

Through this tree-planting initiative, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025 emphasizes that environmental conservation must go beyond mere discussion and awareness, requiring tangible actions that yield direct impact. This activity serves as a reminder that a simple step—such as planting a tree—can play a vital role in the collective effort to preserve forests, strengthen ecosystems, and foster a more sustainable environmental future.
