Forest Monitoring Technology Workshop 2025

Strengthening the capacity of the younger generation in the use of forest monitoring technology is the primary focus of the Forest Monitoring Technology Workshop, themed “Integrating Geospatial Technologies for Forest Monitoring: Leveraging ArcGIS Pro and UAV for Sustainable Forest Management.”. Held on June 11–12 and 18–19, 2025, this activity is a collaboration between Bu-Moe? Fest, the Forest, Nature, and Environment of Aceh Foundation (HAkA), and the Geophysics Engineering Student Association (HIMA-TG) of USK. Through training that combines theoretical understanding with practical application of ArcGIS Pro and UAVs, participants are equipped with relevant foundational skills to support sustainable forest monitoring, analysis, and management.

Forest Monitoring Technology Workshop themed “Integrating Geospatial Technologies for Forest Monitoring: Leveraging ArcGIS Pro and UAV for Sustainable Forest Management”

This workshop was designed to introduce the use of geospatial technology in support of sustainable forest management. Attended by 35 participants (23 men and 12 women), the event provided hands-on training covering UAV (drone) operation, spatial data processing using ArcGIS Pro, and cloud-based satellite imagery analysis. The session featured the GIS team from Yayasan HAkA—Lukmanul Hakim, Alzikri Yanto, Khairul Amri, and Alfarazi Kamal—who offered practical insights into the importance of spatial technology for real-time forest monitoring.

Through this workshop, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025 emphasizes that environmental protection also requires a mastery of technical knowledge and technological innovation. The event not only equips participants with practical skills but also reinforces the understanding that sustainable forest management demands an approach that is adaptive, data-driven, and aligned with technological advancements.
