Preserving God’s Creation: Ecological Da’wah and Wildlife Protection

Environmental conservation efforts can be pursued not only through scientific approaches and policies but also by strengthening moral and spiritual values. With this in mind, Bu-Moe? Fest 2025 is organizing an ecological *dakwah* (outreach) activity titled “Preserving God’s Creation: Ecological Da’wah and Wildlife Protection” on June 26, 2025, at the Aceh Cultural Park. This event serves as a space for learning and reflection, emphasizing the importance of the human role as *khalifah* (steward) on Earth in maintaining the balance of nature and protecting wildlife. Through a religious approach, the message of environmental conservation is conveyed in a manner that is contextual and relevant to the values ​​held by the community.

This event featured Ridwan, S.Ag., Head of the Banda Aceh Sharia Agency, and Prof. Dr. Syahrizal Abbas, MA, a professor at UIN Ar-Raniry, as speakers, with Aris Munandar, Principal of SLA, serving as the moderator. The presentation encouraged participants to understand that environmental preservation is an act of worship, whereas environmental degradation represents a violation of the trust placed in humans as stewards (*khalifah*) of the earth. Through this approach, the issue of environmental protection was addressed not merely as an ecological matter, but also as a moral and spiritual responsibility.

A total of 38 participants—comprising youths, students, and members of the general public—took part in this event. The activity underscored that environmental conservation can be strengthened through a religious approach that is grounded, reflective, and contextual. It served as a strategic step toward fostering ecological awareness rooted in spiritual values, while simultaneously reinforcing the connection between faith, ethics, and responsibility toward nature.
