HakA’s assistance to the Seumanah Jaya community in cultivating kelulut has succeeded in changing the perspectives of 15 members of the linot group in Seumanah Jaya Village, East Aceh. Through intensive organizing training and comparative study visits to aquaculture groups in Jantho, members not only gained technical knowledge, but also the spirit to collaborate and develop the business sustainably.

HakA’s assistance to the Seumanah Jaya community in cultivating kelulut has succeeded in changing the perspectives of 15 members of the linot group in Seumanah Jaya Village, East Aceh. Through intensive organizing training and comparative study visits to aquaculture groups in Jantho, members not only gained technical knowledge, but also the spirit to collaborate and develop the business sustainably.

Prior to the training, the linot group members only had a basic understanding of kelulut cultivation. However, after participating in a series of activities, they now have a more in-depth knowledge of good cultivation techniques, from site selection, nest building, to harvest processing. Support from HakA, which not only provides training, but also facilitates dialogue with village officials, has been key to the program’s success.

The comparative study visit to Jantho was a turning point for the linot group. They witnessed first-hand the best practices of primary honey bee management and learned from the experiences of successful groups. The presentation from Fajar Lestari Nursery Coordinator on the importance of organizational strengthening and bee forage diversity inspired the linot group to implement it in the village.

High enthusiasm was shown by the members during the activities, both during training and comparative study visits. The questions asked showed great interest in developing kelulut farming. Participants claimed that the training had opened their eyes to the potential of kelulut cultivation. They also believe that solid cooperation can improve the welfare of village communities.

With renewed vigor, the linot group has developed an action plan that includes increasing honey production, developing derivative products, and expanding marketing. They also plan to collaborate with relevant parties, such as the village government, agriculture office, and non-governmental organizations, for support and assistance.
