Memberdayakan Kelompok Perempuan Nelayan Teluk Rumbia melalui Pelatihan Pengolahan Produk Turunan Sagu

Training on making crackers from sago flour with a combination of shrimp flavors was aimed at 33 members of the Teluk Rumbia Women Fishermen Group. This activity was carried out on February 27-28, 2024 in Teluk Rumbia Village, Aceh Singkil Regency. The aim is to improve the ability to process village potential into products with sales value. Basically, Teluk Rumbia Village has many sago or rumbia trunks which are usually processed into sago flour, so in this training they can process sago flour into ready-to-eat food, namely crackers. In addition to rumbia trees, this village is also located near a river, so river shrimp are still widely found there. In addition, participants also learned to process cooking spices, namely shrimp skin floss and shrimp skin broth.

Interestingly, the members of the Rumbia Fisherwomen group on average already have the skills to process various sago derivative products (sago plates, sago cendol, and others). Therefore, these positive things can be supported by discussions with the group to strengthen the knowledge capacity they have, and also help make the product so that it can also be traded outside Teluk Rumbia Village, even to the national level. For this reason, independent practices continue to be carried out to make products that are worthy of sale so that packaging and sales training can be carried out later.
