The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Directorate General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Management, Forest Area and Environmental Management Center Region XVIII Banda Aceh inaugurated a new office on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, Geuceu Menara, Jaya Baru District, Banda Aceh City. The event was held in a hybrid manner on Monday, September 30, 2024 and was also attended in person by the Expert Staff of the Minister of LHK, Head of BPKHTL Mr. Toto Prabowo, S.Hut, M.Si, Head of Service A. Hanan, SP, MM, various representatives of UPT KLHK in Aceh, the Aceh Government, Academics and NGOs.

The event was also attended online by the Minister of LHK, Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar M.Sc from Pekanbaru, Riau. The inauguration of the new Aceh office coincided with 3 other locations, namely in Riau, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi. One of the directives from the Minister of Environment and Forestry on this occasion was that the Aceh BPKHTL also monitored the sustainability of the Gunung Leuser National Park and the Leuser Ecosystem Area which have received international attention.

This event also launched the official website of BPKHTL 18 Banda Aceh services with the application name Sibale-GO (Efficient Geospatial Service Based Information System).
