The HAkA Foundation also attended the invitation to the opening and sent two young participants to the Literacy for Climate Action event from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency BMKG Aceh.

The opening ceremony began with a report from the Chairperson of the Climate Literacy Committee, namely the Head of the BMKG Aceh – Indrapuri Climatology Station, Mr. Muhajir, M,Si. The speech was also made by Acting. Mayor of Banda Aceh, Deputy for Climatology of BMKG and Chancellor of Syiah Kuala University.

The HAkA Foundation was asked to send 2 young staff to attend the event held by BMKG. The event was held for two days, namely Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8-9, 2024. On the first day, 2 panel discussion sessions were held. The morning session was presented by DLHK with the theme of Climate Change Activities at DLHK. Other speakers were from BMKG, Eko Cahyo P, SP, M.Si and Siswanto, M.Sc., PhD with the theme of Climate Change Data and Facts. While in the afternoon, the speaker was Dr. Ir. Wira Dharma, S.Si, M.Si, M.P with the theme of Climate Type Changes in Aceh based on Cloud Data. Then Dr. Saumi Syahreza, S.Si, M.Si with the theme of the Impact of Climate Change on Hydrometeorological Threats in Aceh Province and finally Rizanna Rosemary S.Sos, M.Si, MHC., PhD with the theme From Awareness to Action: The Role of Communities in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.

On the second day, participants gathered at the USK Waste Bank. Participants were given an explanation about organic waste management by USK waste bank staff. Next, the presentation from the e-tikbroh.yak team was about the Role of Young People in Climate Action (e-tikbroh.yak Socialization) and Ecobrick Making.
