Agung said that forest damage in 2015 was around 21,056 hectares. Where the area of ​​Aceh's forests in 2014 reached 3.071 million hectares and decreased to 3.050 million hectares in 2015. This forest area shows that 54 percent of Aceh's land area is still covered by natural forest.

"The largest forest damage in 2015 was contributed by East Aceh Regency which reached 4,431 hectares, South Aceh Regency which reached 3,061 hectares, North Aceh Regency which reached 1,771 hectares, Subulussalam City which reached 1,475 hectares, and Gayo Lues Regency which reached 1,401 hectares."

Mr. Mawardi said that TNGL is part of the Leuser Ecosystem Area (KEL). KEL should not be something to be afraid of because KEL itself consists of various functions of forest areas and Other Use Areas (APL).

"When a disaster occurs, people blame the forest and the environment that has been damaged. But at other times, the same people say that development cannot be carried out because it is blocked by protected areas," he added
