Aceh Student Opinion Contest Finals Open: Marthunis Calls for Importance of Literacy and Environmental Concern

Banda Aceh – Head of the Aceh Education Office, Marthunis, ST., DEA. opened the Final of the High School and Vocational High School Student Opinion Competition in Aceh Province, which carried the theme "Sustainable Environment," on Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Banda Aceh.

In his remarks, Marthunis gave high appreciation to the finalists who managed to get through the strict selection to the final round.

"The selection process that you went through has been systematically arranged and proven effective. Now, you will present great ideas that not only hone your writing skills, but also train systematic thinking and convincing delivery," he said.

Marthunis also emphasized the importance of this competition in encouraging student literacy, as well as the ability to convey ideas verbally. "This competition is not just about writing, but also proves comprehensive literacy skills. I congratulate all of you who have become the best among the best," he added.

This activity is expected to inspire other students to care more about the environment and actively participate in literacy activities. This competition also reflects the importance of critical and creative thinking in facing global challenges such as environmental issues. said Marthunis.

The Head of the Organizing Committee, Mukhlis, SE., MM., said that this competition was carried out thanks to the collaboration between the Aceh Education Office and the Aceh Forest and Environment (HAkA). From 282 opinions submitted, 10 finalists were selected after going through a strict selection process.

"In this final round, participants will present their opinions in front of a panel of judges, consisting of academics, journalists, and representatives from the Aceh Education Office and HAkA. The winners will be announced and awarded at the Education Seminar (sports) in commemoration of the 65th Aceh Regional Education Day on September 2, 2024 in the Aceh Education Office hall," said Mukhlis.

Mukhlis also added that all costs incurred by participants and companions during this activity were borne by the committee.

"We hope that competitions like this can continue and develop in the future, to train the younger generation to think critically in facing global challenges," concluded Mukhlis.
