Vice Chancellor I Unsyiah Launches ISBD Book, Leuser Ecosystem Area Included in Teaching Materials

Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) through the General Course UPT (MKU) together with the HAkA Foundation (Forest, Nature, and Environment of Aceh) launched the Basic Social and Cultural Sciences (ISBD) book based on General Education online on zoom, Tuesday (10/11/2020).

This book was officially launched by the Rector of Unsyiah who was represented by the Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan which was also attended by the Chairperson of the HAkA Foundation Farwiza Farhan.

"Through this ISBD book, we hope that human cultural and moral values can always be put forward in all our activities," said Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan in his remarks at the launch of the ISBD book. The Vice Rector I hoped that there would be other collaborations between HAkA and Unsyiah. We hope that this is not the last collaboration, but must be continued with other collaborations, hoped Marwan.

The ISBD book based on General Education is the result of collaboration between Unsyiah and the HAkA Foundation which includes KEL as part of the textbook for general education-based learning programs.

"KEL is a world heritage site, a form of wealth that we should know, protect, and preserve," said Farwiza Farhan in her speech.

The ISBD book containing General Education was supported by the HAkA Foundation after the signing of the Unsyiah and HAkA Foundation cooperation contract in January 2020. This book was written by a team consisting of Dr. Teuku Muttaqin Mansur, M.H, Dr. M. Adli Abdullah, Dr. Sulaiman Tripa, and Hasbi Ali, S.Pd, M.Si. This book was also reviewed and edited by a group of experts consisting of Dr. Taqwaddin, Dr. Muazzin, T. Nazaruddin, Dr. Saiful, Ibu Safrina and Dr. Saleh Sjafei.

What is new about this ISBD book is the discussion of environmental issues and the Leuser Ecosystem Area (KEL), where this area is the lungs of the world that must be consciously maintained, preserved, and managed so that nature, animals and humans live in harmony side by side without anyone destroying it.

"I would like to thank all the authors, editors and the publishing team of this book. We hope that the books published by Syiah Kuala University Press are truly of high quality and ready to compete with authors and publishers elsewhere." Explained Dr. Teuku Muttaqin Mansur, Head of UPT MKU Unsyiah.

"On behalf of Unsyiah, I would like to express my gratitude to the HAkA Foundation for its support. Hopefully this support can contribute and produce cadres who are involved in environmental protection in future generations." Dr. Teuku Muttaqin Mansur concluded. [Team]
